Locals, guests and members are welcome to pop in to enjoy this unique space at The Retreat.  Home to our Wine Cellar and our Sequoia Hair & Nail Salon, The Courtyard is a perfect sun-trap, ideal for catching up with friends, refueling during a bike ride or simply enjoying your own company.

During the warmer months The Courtyard hosts a range of events, from live music to farmers markets.

Our new shop - The Stores - will open in January 2024.

Take a dip in the heated outdoor pool or relax in the sauna... however you choose to relax The Signet Spa is the indulgent heart of your stay at The Retreat.

Spa Days and treatments are available to all, from massages to salt flotation, and The Retreat can become your own country club with our membership programme.

We are delighted to partner with acclaimed Newbury salon Sequoia, created by Olie and Lauren Redwood, to bring a new, exciting hair and nail salon to The Retreat.

The salon is tucked away in our Courtyard, where you will also find TV Chef Clodagh McKenna's store, and our Lay & Wheeler Wine Cellar.

Hit the open road with our fantastic UBCO electric adventure bikes, and explore our local countryside.

Head up to Combe Gibbet for spectacular views, or to Snelsmore Common to ramble through the forest. Lose yourself in the neolithic stones at Avebury or take a magical mystery tour - there's lots to discover! 

The bikes have a range of 75 miles and a top speed of around 30mph.
